Photo of Mt. Robert, Nelson Lakes National Park

Mount Robert (approx 4650 feet high - 1500m). The top half of this mountain is normally covered in snow all winter.
At the foot of Mt. Robert is Lake Rotoiti, approximately 8km long, is the second largest of the lakes in the Nelson Lakes National Park, and the source of the Buller River (which flows to Westport on the west coast over 100km away). It is at about 2000 feet (about 680m) above sea level.
This photo is taken mid afternoon in early winter, before the first major snowfall of the year.
